This was a phenomenal sale! We had bought a really nice cutting mare, Moon San Bar, for our daughter, Robin, for high school rodeos from Todd and Judy McCaughey and the Lazy H Ranch in Monument, Co. Judy is a barrel racer, and she had gotten the mare bred to Dash Ta Fame. Cutter Fame was born in January and subsequently went to a couple of high school rodeos that spring while Robin competed on the mare before he was weaned. We didn't start working with Cutter until May of his 2 year old year. When Robin got home from college, she started breaking him. She rode him during the summer around her trip to the college rodeo finals and her summer rodeo schedule. After she left for college in August and we got thru with the fall futurities up here, Bogie started getting him ready for the sale. Cutter is a really nice horse, with an awesome start. Bogie told some family and friends, "he's a good son-of-a-buck" that they needed to buy him. Fortunately for us, they didn't come to look! Bogie put a super handle on him, he's light in the face, responsive to your weight and legs, and has a great attitude, we're excited to see how he does for the Howes. We have a really good looking 2 year old out of the same mare and our stud Dashin Elvis, who is bred similar to Dash Ta Fame on both the top and bottom side. The mare is at our house now to be bred back to our stud First Down Devil, who is a 5/8 brother to Dash Ta Fame with Tinys Gay on the bottom side. First Down Devil is from a fabulous race family and has full sisters who have won $445,000 and $317,000 on the track. There is a yearling out of a full sister to First Down Devil that sold for $245,000 last fall. |

| This sale was quite an experience. How overwhelming so many total strangers came up to us after the sale to congratulate us, and tell us how good it was for the barrel racing industry. They commented on what a rush it was just watching the bidding and the sale as it progressed. We hope that we, and others, can experience this again, that the barrel racing industry will continue to grow and flourish. | |||||||||
